The exhibition of small plastic “Mimesis of a Smile” of the jeweller Kornelija Gerikaitė will be opened in Kaunas, at Balta gallery on the 5th of April at 5pm.
The author presents the collection of 6 forms: “American Smile”, “Mona Lisa’s Smile”, “Classical Lips”, “Mačiūnas-like Smile”, “Moustache of Dali”, “Closed Mouth”.
K.Gerikaitė: “We are surrounded by codes. Personal identity code, door code, codes of goods, etc. What are our cultural codes? Regulations how we should behave and how we shouldn’t, what is beautiful and what is not, what is familiar and what is strange. This creates the field of cultural codes. Lips have been separated as an object in the exhibition. Lips reveal the entire scale of moods and make an emotional impact on a man.”
