The exhibition “Painting and Graphic Art Exhibition of Lithuanian Emigrants from Prof. Vladas Žukas Personal Collection” will be opened in Panevėžys, at G.Petkevičaitė-Bitė Library, exposition spaces of the central building (1st and 2nd floor) on August 30 at 5pm.

Collection of the well-known scientist, bobiographer, teacher, Professor Vl. Žukas encompasses paintings and graphical works of Lithuanians living abroad. According to the art critic Doc. Dr. Helmutas Šabasevičius, they show the road of professional Lithuanian art from the third decade of the 20th century to the present day.

Paintings of Viktoras Vizgirda, Kazimieras Žoromskis, Vytautas O. Virkau, Kazys Varnelis, Jadvyga Paukštienė, Jonas Rimša, Vytautas Ignas, Elena Urbaitytė, Pranas Lapė (USA), Henrikas Šalkauskas, Pranas Urbonas (Australia), Petras Valius (Russia), Alfredas Stanevičius (Uruguay), Birutė Markuza-Bialostocka (Poland) and graphical works of Vaclovas Ratas, Adolfas Vaičaitis, Eva Kubba (Australia), Viktoras Petravičius, Vytautas Ignas, Romas Viesulas, Vytautas O.Virkau, Magdalena Birutė Stankūnienė (USA), Antanas Mončys, Pranas Gailius, Vytautas Kasiulis, Žibuntas Mikšys (France), Telesforas Valius (Canada), Juzė Katiliūtė (Switzerland), Algimantas Švėgžda (Germany) are showcased in the exhibition.

The exhibition runs until September 30.

On the same day the 100th birth anniversary of Panevėžys public activist Jonas Masiulis will be commemorated in the conference hall of the library at 5.30pm.
