Lina Jonikė was born in Kaunas on February 24, 1969. In 1987 she graduated from J. Naujalis Secondary Art School (specialty of graphics). In 1988-90 she improved her skills at the private studio of anatomy and painting of Aismutis Aleksandravičius. In 1989-95 she studied at Vilnius Art Academy, Kaunas Art Institute, where she obtained the specialty of a textile artist. The artist has been participating in exhibitions since 1993. From 2000 she works as a lecturer at the Textile Department of KAI. She creates contemporary artworks using textile artistic means. Lina Jonikė is a curator of textile exhibitions “Sewing: Lithuania-Finland“ (2005) and “Pins and Needles” (2006).
