R.Brylienė about the festival:

The first festival of the composers E.Grieg and M.K.Čiurlionis’ music took place in 1998 at the initiative of the heads of Kaunas State Philharmonic Hall and Norwegian Hordaland Culture Department. The event was dedicated to presentation of works of two music masters of Lithuania and Norway and to the cultural exchange among artists of these two countries.

The festival has expanded as regards the variety of genres and music authors in the period of twelve years. In addition to opuses of E.Grieg and M.K.Čiurlionis, works of contemporaries of the musicians and composers from their countries resound on stages of the festival; bold works of artists of the young generation of Lithuania and Nordic countries are presented. Jazz and symphony music, integral art projects and subtle chamber genres find their place and listener in the festival.
