A team of Kaunas sculptors, Alfonsas Vaura, Mindaugas Jurėnas, Kęstutis Lanauskas, Tomas Petreikis, won the grand prix in the 20th international festival of snow sculptures in Brackenridge (State of Colorado, USA).

The team of sculptors who represented Lithuania charmed the audience and evaluation committee by the sculpture picturing a hand in a glove showing a victory sign and a ball of ice threads nearby created from pressed snow.

13 teams from 7 countries of the world participated in the competitive festival, which was organised on the 26th-31st of January.

Kaunas artists proved to be the best in the competition organised in a mountain town Brackenridge in Colorado. They overcame the Canadians, who won the second place, and Mexican sculptors, who were left in the third place. Teams of sculptors from China, Russia, Czech and the USA also participated in the festival.

The same team of Kaunas creators won the second place in the festival of ice sculptures in Sapporo (Japan) one year ago.
