“GLASS CARPETS” ABOUT MEANINGS OF RISING  2010 02 04

The personal exhibition of the glass artist Brigita Rodaitė “Glass Carpets” will be opened in Kaunas, at the National M.K.Čiurlionis Art Museum, Ceramics Museum (Rotušės Sq. 15) on the 4th of February at 4 p.m.

Author about the exhibition: “The idea about glass carpets lingered in my mind for some time already, and only later, when I wrote the word carpet (“kilimas” in Lithuanian), I noticed that the same word meant rising too.

When I am working with glass, I enjoy discovering things, experimenting and searching for new possibilities and ways of rendering the idea. My “Glass Carpets” have been performed using different technologies: burning, casting, polishing, integrating other materials. I encode my feelings in the works. Let the spectator read the encoded message and let him/her concentrate on rising emotions”.

The exhibition will be open until the 21st of February.
